Spanish Mystery

Last night I went to my Spanish professor's house play a Spanish mystery game with 20 other Spanish students. It was from 6-9. The rules were that we had to speak ONLY Spanish and try to figure out the mystery. It was a little intimidating because there were several students that were already fluent in Spanish because they were in a higher level than me. But luckily I wasn't the only one that felt that way. There were some people from my class that went so I knew a lot of the people there.

I had a blast! I couldn't believe that I could talk in Spanish (for the most part :)) for 3 hours! I feel like my Spanish is really improving! I'm definitely still far away from becoming fluent, but I'm making my way! My character name was Ricardina, and I was the younger sister of the hot and popular Ricardo, who is an amazing guitar player. While we were there his guitar got stolen! We all had to figure out who stole his guitar. So we talked to each other and found out clues. I didn't like Ricardo because he received all the attention and I didn't receive any, being his younger sister with no musical talent (besides the maracas haha). In the end, we find out that several people were involved with the stealing of the guitar.

This activity reminded me of my love for the Spanish. I know that a Spanish major is right for me!

Jewelry!

Okay, so I love jewelry and I think I'm officially obsessed with earrings! I love to wear a different pair everyday. I like dangling ones and studs too (really any kind of earring!). I just bought some new jewelry the other day I thought I'd share with you what I got. And of course I had to buy new earrings.

I got these in gold. I am saving them for a special occasion!

I love these bird and feather earrings!

I don't own any gold bangles and I think I am going to need some soon!

I will probably have another blog post later which cute earrings that I want!

A Good Laugh

Here are some jokes that I found on the internet. Enjoy :)

Why did the elephant bring toilet paper to a party?
Becase he was a party pooper.

Sam: Would you punish me for some thing i didn't do?
Teacher: no, of course not.
Sam: good, because i didn't do my homework

Why don't oysters give to charity?
Because they're shellfish.

What happened when Batman and Robin got run over by a steam roller?

They became Flatman and Ribbon!

My parents recently retired. Mom always wanted to learn to play the piano, so dad bought her a piano for her birthday. A few weeks later, I asked how she was doing with it. "Oh, we returned the piano." said My Dad, "I persuaded her to switch to a clarinet instead."

"How come?" I asked. "Because," he answered, "with a clarinet, she can't sing."

During their silver anniversary, a wife reminded her husband: Do you remember when you proposed to me, I was so overwhelmed that I didn't talk for an hour?" The hubby replied: "Yes, honey, that was the happiest hour of my life."

A woman in Brooklyn decided to prepare her Will and make her final requests. She told her rabbi she had two final requests. First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered all over Bloomingdales. "Why Bloomingdales?" asked the rabbi. "Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week."

Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures, tacked to a bulletin board, of the 10 most wanted criminals. One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person. "Yes," said the policeman. "The detectives want very badly to capture him." Little Johnny asked, "Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture?"

Summary of my Weekend

This weekend has been great. I came home after not being home for over a month. It was great to be back. Friday I got to see my brother Nick go off to his senior prom. It was very exciting, he and his date looked great! Afterwards I went shopping for a dress and bought one! On Saturday, I went shopping with my mom and bought some new spring dresses :). Later that afternoon I got to play some quick tennis with my brother Chris... and then it was off to thunder! I had a lot of fun with some high school friends. Sometimes I forget how much fun I have with those girls, but I have a blast! I can't wait to spend some more time with them over the summer, before I move! We only stayed at Thunder for 3 hours. That was enough for us. Thunder amazes me in that I see so many different kinds of people! People speaking different languages, wearing weird clothes, you name it- I saw it! The fireworks were great as usual. Today I went for a lovely run in my neighborhood, and worked on a BUNCH of homework..still working on this research paper! Overall, I just had a great weekend, and love spending time with my family. ONLY 4 more weeks of school!!!

NYC this SUMMER!

Since I will be in Connecticut this summer, I will only be a 90 minute train ride to NYC! I am so excited and plan on being there a lot this summer. One thing that I hope I will get to do is go to the "Today Show" which is on TV every morning by NBC and is shot in Rockefeller Plaza in NYC. Over the summer they have a concert series. Every Friday they will have a famous singer/band come and play for the show. Last year I went to see The All-American Rejects! It was so cool (even though I was so short I couldn't really see anything).

Here is the List for the summer. ANYBODY WANT TO COME VISIT AND GO WITH ME?
I think I will be going to Lady Gaga and Ke$ha for sure (My brother Nick really wants to go to those so I will probably be there).

Personality Test

Hey, would you like to know my personality? I have taken this test NUMEROUS times and every time I get the same personality!

ISFJ

Introvert
Sensing
Feeling
Judging

Here is what the internet says about my personality:

We are lucky that Protectors make up as much as ten percent the population, because their primary interest is in the safety and security of those they care about - their family, their circle of friends, their students, their patients, their boss, their fellow-workers, or their employees. Protectors have an extraordinary sense of loyalty and responsibility in their makeup, and seem fulfilled in the degree they can shield others from the dirt and dangers of the world. Speculating and experimenting do not intrigue Protectors, who prefer to make do with time-honored and time-tested products and procedures rather than change to new. At work Protectors are seldom happy in situations where the rules are constantly changing, or where long-established ways of doing things are not respected. For their part, Protectors value tradition, both in the culture and in their family. Protectors believe deeply in the stability of social ranking conferred by birth, titles, offices, and credentials. And they cherish family history and enjoy caring for family property, from houses to heirlooms.

Wanting to be of service to others, Protectors find great satisfaction in assisting the downtrodden, and can deal with disability and neediness in others better than any other type. They are not as outgoing and talkative as the Provider Guardians [ESFJs], and their shyness is often misjudged as stiffness, even coldness, when in truth Protectors are warm-hearted and sympathetic, giving happily of themselves to those in need.

Their reserve ought really to be seen as an expression of their sincerity and seriousness of purpose. The most diligent of all the types, Protectors are willing to work long, hard hours quietly doing all the thankless jobs that others manage to avoid. Protectors are quite happy working alone; in fact, in positions of authority they may try to do everything themselves rather than direct others to get the job done. Thoroughness and frugality are also virtues for them. When Protectors undertake a task, they will complete it if humanly possible. They also know better than any other type the value of a dollar, and they abhor the squandering or misuse of money. To save, to put something aside against an unpredictable future, to prepare for emergencies-these are actions near and dear to the Protector's heart. For all these reasons, Protectors are frequently overworked, just as they are frequently misunderstood and undervalued. Their contributions, and also their economies, are often taken for granted, and they rarely get the gratitude they deserve.

Bittersweet

Looking at my planner, I realized that there are only 5 more weeks left in the semester! I can't believe it. This semester has gone too fast, and I'm almost done with my freshman year of college. Sometimes I can't fathom that I'm actually in college! I'm both sad and happy that the semester is coming to a close. I am sad because I will be leaving all of my friends. I am going to miss learning new things in class, but the not the homework and studying part, that's for sure! I am also going to miss the sense of community and meeting new people (but I'm sure I will be doing that once I move). I especially enjoy Sunday night mass because I always get so much out of them. But I will be happy to be finally home with my family! :) I have really missed them this semester and it will be great to spend 3 whole months with them! I will get to walk my dog and play games outside with my brothers. I won't have to worry about school work or when I need to go to a meeting. I am probably more excited about the school year ending than sad. But I am going to enjoy my last few weeks of school as a freshman in college!

My New House!

It's official! I have a new house in Connecticut! My house sold in Louisville last week so my family had the opportunity to go house hunting this week and they put in an offer! They picked the house that I liked the best, which is very exciting. My parents and two brothers were both there to look at homes, but I wasn't :( But the house we chose, I had seen it over the summer, so I was very pleased that they chose this one! The house has a beautiful and huge backyard, a big basement, and pretty sun room off of the kitchen. I will be moving there the first week of June. The timing is perfect. We won't have to move into an apartment before we move up to Southbury, Connecticut.

Below are some pictures of my new house, but of course it will look different once we move in our own furniture and decorate:

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a great day! I sure did!

Last night I went to the Easter Vigil Mass. It was my first time going to one, I usually go on Easter Sunday with my family. It was really great to experience it. To top it all off, I was a server! I got to see a different aspect to mass. I have to admit that I was nervous, and luckily I didn't mess up! Even though the mass lasted two hours it was very meaningful and prayerful. We started outside with a bonfire and then made our way inside, to the dark. Once the Gloria started (which is one of my favorite songs!) we lit up the place! It was really neat. Jesus has risen!

Two people were welcomed into the Catholic faith and three were confirmed. Seeing this made me realize that I love being part of the Catholic community. As Father mentioned in the homily, we welcomed them into our faith and they will continue the history of Catholicism. They are important to all of us.

Well, I hope the Easter bunny was good to you! He was to me :)
