Welcome Home Dog!

My roommate adopted a dog yesterday and I'm excited to have furry friend in the house! We haven't decided on the name yet, but I will let you all know. 

So far she has been a very well-behaved dog! She is a 2 year old Lab/Spaniel Mix. More to come!

Can I get one?! Golden Pups

My roommate Katelynn really wants a dog! And I'm not complaining whatsoever. I would love a dog around the house. She saw an ad for Golden Retriever puppies and so we went to go visit them last night. Just check out their cuteness! 

8 Month Old Penny

This past week I went home for my Spring Break. That means that I got to see my puppy dog, Penny! She is 8 months already. I thought I would share what's up with the pup!

**NOTE: Most of these pictures are her snuggling...aka one of her favorite activities.

- Playing at the dog park
- Hiding her bones inside AND outside the house
- Sleeping on her electric blanket, burrowing down 
- Snuggling with anyone
- Chewing on bones (oinkies specifically)
- Whining for attention
- Stealing socks and eating them too!
- Car rides
- Running with Erin (that's what I think ;))
- Treats
- Her pet camel
- Wrestling with Chris
- Anything she's not supposed to have 

Dislikes
- Having to go outside in the cold and rain
- No one paying attention to her
- Us not sharing our human food with her
- When someone locks her out of a room

Animal House- Adoption Center

Today Katelynn and I went to Animal House- Adoption Center to visit the dogs and puppies that are up for adoption. They all were so adorable! It was so hard to leave without a dog. It was a fun way to spend my birthday afternoon. 

We visited with four different dogs:
1. Pokey- 2 month old Saint Bernard Mix. He was sooo cute and sweet! He loved to play and hop on onto your lap. His paws were so big so there's a good possibility that he could grow up to be 150 pounds!
2. Lucy- Pug mix. She was full of energy, snorted, and a little overweight. She was cute, but very high energy.
3. Charlie- Husky and German Shepherd Mix. He was hyper and had the cutest face ever, with wrinkles on his forehead. He was getting a little frisky with Katelynn...ha!
4. Nugget- Black Lab mix. He was the sweetest dog ever. Two years old and very chill. He was abused so he had some scars and marks on him and the worker said he has accidents sometimes when he's scared. We were really considering taking him home!

It's you're ever interested volunteering or adopting a dog or cat, Animal House is your place! It was sad to see so many lonely and abandoned dogs, but it was great to see the signs that said just adopted.

5 month old Penny

I can't believe that Penny is 5 months old already! She is growing up fast. Last time I saw her during Fall Break she was definitely smaller and not as well behaved (but still cute, of course). She is now almost 30 pounds, listens better and loves to play at the dog park. She had so much fun on her first vacation to Hilton Head as well. She loved the beach, and could probably stay there all day if she could. She didn't like the water. She wanted to drink it, but finally realized that it was salty. Chris also wanted to see if she could swim....let's just say she didn't really like when he threw her in the pool. I will try to upload the video.

Seeing Doubles: Penny #2

Want to know something funny? There is a Vizsla puppy out there that is only one month younger than my Vizsla puppy named Penny too.

Long story to short, I know this Penny! The kids that I used to babysit in Louisville just got this new puppy. She is a cutie too. I got to meet her the other day. She is very sweet!

These (4) kids that I used to babysit once had a Vizsla named Churchhill who was sweet and Bailey's "boyfriend." He was so friendly. He passed away even before Bailey did. But welcome two new Pennys!

Penny on Social Media

Since I'm not home social media has been my friend to talk to my family and also, see the cutest pup ever! 

Skype has been great to see Penny live. Here are some snap shots of Skyping her. 

This is when Nick went to go pick her out. She was so tiny! As you can see, Mom, Chris, and I are all huddled around the computer screen. 

Above and below, this was the first weekend that they picked her up. She was sleeping and kind of out of it. She was so squishy looking! And Dad popped in to say hi too!

Below is a video of Penny. I took this on my phone when I was home for Fall Break. I need to work on figuring out hot to upload a video. Not sure why it turned out like this. 

Almost everyday, Chris is sending me Snap-chats. He sent me one yesterday with a UofL blanket on her and said "Go Cards!" Too funny. Mom is sending me picture texts of her as well. Thank goodness for social media and technology :)
