Rosary Making

October is the month of the Holy Rosary. At church I learned how to make my own rosary out of string! It is really cool and I think I've made about 10 so far. We are hoping to make a lot and eventually hand them out to people on campus.

Here is a little something about the Rosary from http://www.theholyrosary.org/

"The word Rosary means "Crown of Roses". Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It's a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks She always receives, Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for. In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace. With your prayer made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Each day, through prayer you can drive away from yourselves and from your homeland many dangers and many evils.
It can seem a repetitive prayer but instead it is like two sweethearts who many times say one another the words: "I love you"... "

Here is how to say the Rosary:

OH MY GOODNESS!

WKU won their first game since 2008! Go HILLTOPPERS! The bummer is it was an away game so I didn't get to watch it... but we still won! We played Louisiana-Lafayette last night and the score was 54-21. I can't believe we finally won!!!!

This week is Homecoming and I can't wait! I hope we win our first home game... against North Texas.

GO WKU!

Wow! It's been awhile since I blogged last. I guess I have been really busy. It has been a good busy though!

On Saturday I went to the WKU vs. University of Louisiana-Monroe game. It was a lot of fun, but as usual we lost :( It was a really great game though because we came sooo CLOSE! We were winning until the 4th quarter and we just lost it. I'm hoping and praying that we win a game this season. Hopefully it will be a home game too so I can watch and celebrate! I hope we win our homecoming game in two weekends :) GO HILLTOPPERS!

IT'S FINALLY FALL BREAK!

Yay for Fall Break! Today I had two tests and didn't get completely done until 4:10. I am soooo glad to have all my tests done with and that the school day is over. I am looking forward to a great next few days. Here is what I'm doing for break:

Thursday:
Helping the Catholic Campus Center paint or do whatever is needed up there.
Pick up my Mom at the Nashville airport late afternoon and then spend the rest of the day with her. And I plan on taking her to Stakz! YUM!

Friday:
My Mom and I are driving up to Louisville for the day to visit some friends and old neighbors. I am going out to eat with my high school friends! I can't wait to see them all. I really miss Louisville and I'm sure I will have a great time! After dinner sometime we are headed up to Cincinnati to stay with and visit my Aunt, Uncle, and two little cousins!

Saturday:
While we are in Cincinnati I think we are going to a pumpkin patch with my cousins, which should be a lot of fun. They are 1 and 3 years old. In the evening my Mom is going to her high school reunion. I possibly could be babysitting my cousins if my Aunt and Uncle want to go out.

Sunday:
We are leaving early in the morning to drive all the way to Nashville to drop my Mom off at the airport. I should be back on campus about 1 or so. And then it's homework time....blah!

I hope to have an awesome Fall Break and I will be sure to update you on all the exciting things that go on.

Eventful Day!

Today I volunteered at Chaney's Dairy Barn Birthday Party with the Honors Club. I was there from 9:30-5:00. It was a long day, but definitely fun and entertaining. I helped with the duck pound and painting pumpkins. The kids were so cute and made their pumpkins VERY colorful. It was such a beautiful and sunny day until 3.... Around that time all of a sudden it became really, really windy. There was an inflatable at the party and it completely flipped over and there were kids inside! There were about 8 kids in there screaming and parents yelling, "My babies!" Many parents helped out and rescued all the children. It was kind of scary because potentially those kids could have been thrown down to the ground or suffocated. But thankfully everything turned out fine. So that was my day, I got to help cute kids, eat yummy Chaney's ice cream, get 7 1/2 hours of service and watch the wind blow everything over!
